INFO:
It only felt right to dedicate today’s episode to Britney Spears following the release of her new memoir The Woman In Me! For the first time ever, the trials and tribulations of Britney are being spoken about directly from her, from Justin Timberlake, to Colin Farrell, to Jamie Lynn, to the Conservatorship Some key takeouts below: * Britney and Justin were together from 1999-2002 and in this time, Britney had an abortion. Justin dumped her via text whilst she was filming Overprotected * Britney had a two week fling with Colin Farrell following this and then a 55 hour marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander * Britney’s Conservatorship saw her lose the right to her personal and financial decisions for 13 years and was managed by her father, Jamie Spears, attorney Andrew M.Wallet and her former business manager Lou Taylor * In this time though, Britney released 4 studio albums, toured the world, judged The X Factor USA and completed a four year Vegas residency. Something ISNT ADDING UP * Some of the restrictions imposed on Britney was not having a phone, not being able to bath alone, having birth control forced on her, having to give blood every week, and the reason she did this is because she wanted to keep in contact with her children * She was paid a salary from her father who then controlled her finances. Reports online aren’t accurate of it but some of it goes as low a $60,000u002Fyear; roughly £50k. £50k of course isn’t to be shied at but just taking her Vegas residency alone which made $140 million; it’s insane * She recounts frustration with her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, for seemingly capitalising on her book deal by releasing her own memoir a year before. Jamie Lynn also pitched a sister-to-sister talk show to Britney immediately after being out of her conservatorship, and was named a secret trustee of her account * Shaving her head was a way for her to give the paparazzi what they wanted finally after months of being harassed following the death of her aunt in 2007 * She recalls Paris Hilton as one of the kindest humans she’s ever met and was nice to her following her marriage breakup, but rejects the party girl image she was given and states she never had any interest in partying and would take ADHD medication instead I’m kinda thinking of maybe reading a couple chapters of the book on LIVE weeknights this week… is that cringe or we giving that a big fat YES? Lemme know who you want next!
